Abstract
Objective: The purpose of this research was to design the privatization model in Iran's Sports Industry.
Methodology: This study has a qualitative approach and we used the grounded theory as a research method. For gathering data, we studied high level documents and we interviewed with 15 elites who were aware of this subject. The validity of this research was examined and approved by the interviewers and then expert professors. The reliability of it is 0/84 which was obtained by using the interstitial agreement method. For data analysis we used the continuous comparison method in three stages: open, axial and selective coding.
Results: As a result of analysis of interviews and high level documents, 118 key concepts were developed in the form of 51 categories and 11 main categories. Major categories include the Requirements of high level documents; Management of change, evolution and conflict; structural reform; commercialization; professionalism; privatization; external factors and organizational environment; Lack of National determination and appearances; promotion of supervisory and control system; Professional development and discipline; and the Development and internationalization of the sports industry.
Conclusion: It seems that in the current situation, the structure of the sports industry is not ready for privatization, and in all its dimensions, inspired by high level documents, it needs serious reengineering.
