Objective: The aim of this research was identification of the challenges and opportunities of social media marketing of Premier League Football Clubs.Methodology: The research method was qualitative and was carried out using a thematic approach. Research data were collected through semi -structured interviews. The statistical population included 14 professors in the field of sports marketing and social media experts. The sampling method was purposive and interviews continued until the theoretical saturation was reached. Thematic analysis method was used to revel the Basic theme, Organizing theme, Global theme.Results: The analysis of the interviews showed that Iranian football clubs can use the potential capabilities of social media as communication and marketing opportunities with their fans. Social media marketing opportunities include: unique features of social media, club brand awareness and promotion, social media business, fan engagement, online support and protection of fans. In addition, the opportunities, football clubs face challenges in using social media as a marketing tool.Conclusion: According to the results, it is suggested to the managers of football clubs to provide opportunities for increasing the activities of the fans due to the interactive nature of social media. By increasing the involvement of fans in social media, the commercial and advertising income of the club is facilitated.

Objective: The purpose of the present study was to identify and classify the factors affecting the financial distress of Iranian professional football clubs based on interpretive structural modeling (ISM).Methodology: This research is a qualitative research with descriptive-analytical nature and it is an applied research which was done through interpretive structural method. Data collection tools were library studies, interviews and questionnaires. The statistical population of the study consisted of all sport managers, professors and academic experts familiar with soccer, football players and pioneers of the country, 65 of whom were selected by purposeful and snowball method in each section of the study. Interpretive structural method (ISM) was also used for data analysis.Results: 69 factors affecting the outflow of financial distress from Iranian football clubs were identified. They were classified into 7 dimensions: management, infrastructure, human capital, marketing and advertising, technology and technology, legal and communication factors and 4 levels. Management was identified as the fourth level of the model, the most basic and underlying model.Conclusions: Finally, according to the results of the research, stabilizing club management, outsourcing the club to the private sector, employing managers and marketing experts, organized communication with internal and external scientific and research centers, interaction with managers and specialists in successful European clubs and Getting to know the legal issues of the club is recommended to get rid of financial distress.

Objective: Broadcasting rights are one of the main sources of income for the football industry in the world. The aim of this study is investigation of the broadcasting rights in the Iranian football industry. Methodology: This study has a qualitative approach and the grounded theory was used as a research method. For gathering data high level documents were studied and 31 experts who were aware of this subject were interviewed. The validity of this research was examined and approved by the interviewers and then expert professors. The reliability of it is %76 which was obtained by using the methodology of the auditing result process. For data analysis the continuous comparison method in three stages was used: open, axial and selective coding. Results: Data analysis shows that the Environmental factors, Economic, political and cultural factors, Structural factors of football, Effective managerial factors(government), Behavioral and semantic factors, statutory and legal factors and the codification and Establishment broadcasting rights pattern are seven effective factors in the sale of broadcasting rights. Conclusion: Studies show that the continued refusal of Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcaster (IRIB) to pay the television broadcasting fees will make the financial of football industry bankrupt. Also establishing the private television networks and the formation of bargaining committee with the government, parliament and the IRIB organization for sustained financial development of country football industry seems necessary.

Objective: This survey identified and ranked the economic obstacles of club privatization in Iranian professional football league. Methodology: The statistical population of this study included the directors of the premier football league and the first division football league, the chief committees of football federation and provincial football boards, professors of sport management and economics, and management who were familiar with the professional football Issues, as well as football news reporters and experts (N=173). The data collection tool was the structured questionnaire. Its validity was confirmed. To measure reliability of questionnaire, Cronbach’s alpha was used (α=0.80). Friedman test was used to rank the obstacles as well as Factor Analysis was used to identify factors. Results: The results showed that the first obstacle of professional football club privatization was inappropriate allocation of television broadcast rights and pitch-side advertising among teams. Conclusion: Increasing the effectiveness and efficiency, improvement of the system management, good results achievement, and budget increase of club are the most important aims of each sport club. The Economic problems towards the clubs privatization were the notable obstacles to reach these aims. So, overcoming these obstacles is the first step to succeed.

Background & Purpose: This survey evaluated the economic obstacles of club privatization in Iranian professional football league. Methodology: The statistical population of this study included the Premier League and first division football club directors, chiefs committee of Football Federation and official football of the Provinces, sport management and some of economic and management professors which were familiar to the professional football Issues, and football news reporters and experts (N=173).
